Help me spend my money

OK, got some payments via paypal and am looking at doing a little shopping therapy. I havent bought a lot of print rpg books in the last year but have gotten some as gifts. If you were going to buy print products put out in the last year and had approximately the price of 2 WotC books what would you get?

It would help if we knew what you had and liked

I would get Xendrick for Eberron, Cityscape, and Magic Item Compendium. I'm running a Sharn campaign in Eberron and those are the most useful of the books I don't have. PHB2 would be fourth on that list if I could find them really cheap.

You have some money? It just so happens that I have inherited a massive sum of money in Nigeria, but I need 5,000$ to open a bank account there. Can you help me?

More seriously, Magic Item Compendium is a must have.

Yeah, I knew that would be the first Q asked. Xendrick and Cityscape I got as presents. MIC is a top contender. PHB 2 is one of the last books I bought for myself.

Right now I am mainly looking for books that are
A) Interesting reads on their own
B) Are useful for games I might actually run.

For instance, I think WW's Scion fits A but not sure about B. MIC fits B but may not fit A.

If it fits in A and B in your experiance I want to hear about it. (Whether or not in would neccesarilly do so for me, I am willing to entertain new ideas.)

But if it helps I tend to play DnD or d20M, but am also interested in MnM, World of Darkness (particularly mortals stuff, Vampires and Werewolves not so much), and general dark supernatural modern stuff.

Fiendish Codex I and II. Cool stuff.

Maybe Magic Item Compendium and one of the megamodules.

Try this.

They're not all print, and they're mostly slightly older, but I'd choose any of these over anything WotC has put out in the last few months.

Thank me when you're poor again. ;)

It was an okay read, but the game sounds so fun that we made up characters that night and are going to play it. So, depending on how you guys are with new games you might to.

WW has Mysterious Places which is awesome if you don't have it. They are also coming out with an Urban Legends and Asylum books I am excited about. Ghouls is for the VtR line but makes for a good book for the mortals game as well. The mortals stuff is the line of theirs I prefer as well.

I'd go with MIC for starters. Seems like it will be incredibly useful, and I'm finding some of the items themselves to be fairly interesting. At least, they certainly get me thinking of player rewards --- and equipment for BBEGs!
