Help Me Start off a New Silverymoon Campaign!

Xune Woe

First Post
I'm working up some plot/story ideas for a new campaign I'm going to be running. The campaign will start off in Silverymoon in the Silver Marches area of the Forgotten Realms. There's a wealth of generalized information (fluffy bits) spread across a number of books that I've already checked, the problem is there's nothing in terms of adventure hooks or written adventures (crunchy stuff) that take place in that immediate area of the realms.

Can anyone point me to a good source of adventure ideas that would work in the immediate location?

- Web sites with Silverymoon-specific ideas.
- Books I've overlooked?
- Specific Dungeon or Dragon mags that may have info?
- Anything off the top of your head?

I've already browsed thru the usual suspects: FRCG, The Silver Marches, Magic of Faerun, Races of Faerun, Lords of Darkness, etc.

Any helpful tips or hints or story ideas would be most welcome!

No kidding.

(BTW, in the download, there's a section on Ward Magic; there's an OGC version in FFG's Spells & Spellcraft. I highly recommend that in any campaign. Good stuff.)

That's a great web site. I've made use of it myself on a few occasions when the PCs in my Forgotten Realms campaign visited Silverymoon.

Some story ideas:

1. House Dlardrageth - The PC's could run afoul of these evil Sun Elves. Perhaps they come upon a Feyr'i raiding party as they are trying to kidnap some Elven travellers, or maybe the PC's notice someone in Silverymoon acting a little strange; turns out they're spies for Countess Sarya, who is gathering information about the world around her. I think this could also lead to some interesting NPC's. Maybe the party encounters a Baelnorn (Elven Lich). He has just recently awoken from a long sleep, because some evil had been released upon the world and threatened everyone around. Elven Bladesingers, part of an ancient order dedicated to opposing the Feyr'i, should they escape, might ask the PC's for help. BTW, this is similar to something I've got going right now, only my players are helping the Daemonfey. :]

2. If you have read any of Salvatore's recent FR novels (The Thousand Orcs, the Lone Drow), you might consider setting your adventure/campaign against the backdrop of the current war with King Obould Many-Arrows. Maybe they are emissaries from Silverymoon, attending King Bruenor's coronation at the request of High Lady Alustriel, only to find Mithral Hall under siege (use this one only if your players are high level, I would think).

Those are the only ones I could come up with right now. It's 3 AM, and the screen's starting to get a bit.........fuzzy.

You might also try Mortality.net, as they have some useful tools for DM's.

Hope this helps!
