Actually, I think around 5th level the martial adepts are overall the most powerful. A caster can answer more problems, but a ToB charactr is just... I do want to know, what's your DM's stance on how White Raven Tactics works? By RAW, you can use it on yourself, but many many many DMs (including me) don't allow that. Because it makes 3.0 haste look balanced by comparison. Even not letting it affect the user, it's the best maneuver in the book. But if your DM runs it by RAW, I absolutely think your best bet is a level 5 Warblade or Crusader. EDIT: And if you really only expect to face lycanthropes, or mostly lycanthropes, you can make a dedicated 'thrope slayer with Ranger and rock the house, you just won't have much survival abilities beyond medium HD and good fort saves. For some stupid reason, "shapechangers" isn't on the favored enemies list, but if anyone knows a splatbook that lets you (seems freaking reasonable to me)... Ranger 5 Favored Enemies: Shapechangers +4 / something else +2 (I might do Undead if playing a Wood Elf w/ the 1st level racial sub. level) Feats: Improved Favored Enemy (+3 to favored enemy damage) Steadfast Determination (can't fail fort saves on a 1, Use Con instead of Wis on Will saves) Alt. Class features: Strong-Arm Combat Style (Power Attack as your level 2 feat) Solitary Hunter (lose animal companion, gain favored enemy damage bonus on attack rolls as well) Basically just have a good str and con and use a 2H weapon, preferably with reach, maybe a spiked chain, most definitely silver. Against lycanthropes, you have a +7 to hit and damage. Almost makes Whirlwind Attack (using flaws and the Mobility armor enhancement to qualify) tempting if you could be enlargd with a spiked chain to deal death to large areas each turn...
