Dwarven Scroll? Thinking.. epic poetry. Thinking... gods. Thinking.. stealing fire from the gods. Thinking... some very contrite PC's. (Bardic Knowledge DC 30. The poem of the Kingsbane, Hrulfgar, is the poem of the oathbreaker Hrulfgar who slaughtered his father and raped his sister. The main part of the story is Hrulfgar's son Toric who battles between his burning need to avenge his grandfather and mother against the fact that Hrulfgar is a great warleader who has led the Dwarves into an age of prosperity undreamed of; toric must work out which is more important, vengeance or the good of the Dwarves. As most dwarven poetry does, everyone dies an honorable death except for Hrulfgar who is cast into the most horrible of torment by Moradin, whom Hrulfgar tricked. Moradin decrees that any who take up the mantle of the Kingsbane will suffer the unbearable agonies of spirit that Hrulgar is still undergoing.) Kingsbane And Lo, Godlike Hrulfgar stood upon the mount of tears and cried, "How can I save our people from the Ordrendor?" The mount responded with a great cracking, and said to him "To send the great Obould to a frightening hell you must take my heart, the love of a dead star And bring it to my Father Moradin. Him you must trick into hitting my heart with the Soulforger, deep his home under the earth by covering the heart with orc-blood, which Moradin cannot see through. Then you must take that which is most valuable from a maiden fair, Cut it out with the knife of the moon and rub the metal, for softening. The hilting shall be made of the bones of the father, and carved with a knife of the moon and in that very blood you shall bring the pieces together. Then there will never be a battle you will not lose, Hrulfgar the Great Defender. The mount of tears was joyful, for it was not the place Hrulfgar thought it to be. The ancient spirits of the people were silent for fear; the Darkness that Dwells in the Deep was what spoke. And weeping openly, Hrulfgar did what he was bid. + 3 Keen Wounding Greatsword of Orcbane. (Love of a dead star - Adamantine.) (Moradin's blow - A cleric must enchant the metal in a cave far below the earth where once Moradin dwelled. A Holy place. Taken over by bad dudes.) (Maiden fair - A bit disgusting, but it is a nasty demon. Cut out the hymen from a virgin.) (Knife of the Moon - An unholy relic - The priests of Moradin keep it hidden against those who would use it.) (Bones of the father. Forger must kill own father. Or use the bones of a father slaughtered by his son.) It's probably intelligent, NE, with Hrulfgars wailing and insane essense inside it.
