Help pricing a magic item.

I'm looking to price an item that I've used as treasure in the past. It functions just like an Aureon's Spellshard from Eberron, with the following additional ability:

Spells can be removed or added by the item's owner. The item can still only hold 500 pages worth of spells at any one time.

Any thoughts on how to price this?

Price = Aureon + 10%?

Honestly, I don't see it as tremendously more useful than a standard spellshard. It's real benefit is creating customized adventuring spellbooks - but you'll want a copy left at home, anyway, so you're still out two spellshards / spellbooks.

I've often wondered if this isn't already a function of the spellshard or a Boccob's Blessed Book due to the special note in their item descriptions that states they are never found as random treasure already containing spells. Does a spellshard in use suddenly have it's spells wiped away when the adventurers find it?

I've always looked at that comment and said, "Seriously, what the hell were they thinking?"

I just include the price of the scribed scrolls in the value of the treasure, if it's ever actually important.
