Help resizing/rescaling PDF

First Post
So I have this PDF. It's *huge*, about 100MB, and I'm trying to reduce the file size by rescaling the included images (which I figure are 600DPI color). Turns out I'm wrong...

The PDF is a 36x44" document with 150DPI images. Instead of 8.5"x11" at 600DPI -- the guy who created it just screwed up the settings.

My question to those who know is, can I fix the size/DPI settings to be 8.5"x11", 600DPI? I've got a Mac and Acrobat Professional 6.0 if that helps... I can always print to a PDF, but that loses the bookmark information.

Thanks!

If you have Acrobat 6 there is an option to optimize the pdf to your settings. If not just refry the pdf by printing to postscript and redistilling.

Thanks :) That's what I was afraid of.

The Optimizing menu lets you redo the DPI of images. I suppose I could cut everything down to 30-ish (err... 150/4) to shrink 'em. Worst comes to worst, redo and re-bookmark.

Which actually leads to another good question. Anyone know of a way to batch export and import bookmarks from a PDF? That would probably be extraordinarily complex, but you never know...

You can't do it with the basic Acrobat setup you need a plugin to do it, something like ISI Toolbox will export and import bookmarks.
If you want to resize the file without loosing the bookmarks you could download the Enfocus Pitstop demo.

With this you can resize the document to the correct size. Alternatively you could send the file to me and I'll do it for you :D
