help spend my money!

I will be starting a character of 10th level (A crusader (a sort of paladin from Tome of Battle)). I will get full starting wealth, but will only be able to spend about half of it on magical or "special materials" items like adamantine, etc.

So, that leaves almost 25 000 gp burning a hole in my pocket. What else should I spend it on?

Damn. I've been waiting quite a while for a thread with this title; after reading the post though I realized you meant your player character's imaginary wealth. Oh well. :(

An army of mercenaries.

2,499,900 torches. And a flint and tinder.

833 ponies (at 30gp each). Crush your enemies under a wave of hooves. Waste the leftover 10gp on something frivilous?

More seriously:

How about a mount - sure you could get something quite interesting for that sort of money?

Is property an option?

In a word: Status.

Lands and title. Ships. Retinue. Buildings. Businesses. Investments.

As an added bonus, a lot of those things make the money back given enough time.

It's something you'd have to work out with your DM, but blow about 8,000 or so of that gold on whatever, then talk to your DM about having that remaining 15,000 gold represent your purchase into the ranks of landed nobility. Nothing fancy, just a small estate somewhere out of the way, but you've gotta admit it's certainly paladiny. :D

First off, when buying your magic, be sure to load up on bags of holding and such, 'cause you'll either be carrying around a lot of stuff or a lot of coin.

Now, for the rest of it. Lots and lots and lots of the mundane "extras" that often get overlooked:
Silver/iron/adamantium weapons.
Chain shirt PJs.
Portable Ram. Scratch that. Full-sized Ram.
Back up mounts.
Forget the bedroll, get an actual bed.
Tools. Carpentry. Metal working. Gardening. Whatever, just all of them.
An alchemists' lab.
Pack animals.
Back up pack animals.
Spyglass.
Water clock. Just 'cause.
More 10' poles than you could shake a 10' pole at.
Healers/climbers/disguise kits.
A pack of trained hunting dogs.
A wheelbarrow. And a holocaust cloak.
Boat/wagon/carriage/other vehicles.
Sunrods/Tanglefoot bags/Alchemists' Fire/etc.
And so on...

And since it sounds like you're a religious type, load up on holy symbols and texts and go all Jehovah's Witness on your DM.

Realize I'm halfway joking around with this, but there is a lot of mundane stuff you could load up on. I also think your Dm is being kind of silly making you spend that much on mundanes.
