Help with a difficult character concept: The Paragon Commoner

Billiarmus

First Post
Recently, i've started thinking about running a character that's rather far off from anything that's been tried before. I stumbled upon the Paragon template and i realized this would be a really cool thing to apply to the commoner class at something like 1st level and see how a character with incredible abilities, but no real experience, would develop in a party of seasoned adventurers.
Something like a "superman".

The campaign we are in is 12th level.
The other party members are a rogue, cleric and illusionist.
I am aiming for a 1st level paragon human commoner.

Please help with ideas on balance, possible changes to balance it with the party and short term/long term benefits, disadvantages, etc.

Thanks for your help!

First, you have to get him HPs. He's going to have 16+ con bonus. So even with a 30 con, that's only 26 HP. Really, really low at for 12th level encounters. However, he will get that many per level (more if he multi classes), so he can catch up really fast. Also, the fast healing will keep you alive.

Are you going to equip him with magic as a 12th level character? That may throw him over the balance, maybe.

You get +29 to AC, so you'll be hard to hit and I doubt anything will get through the +6 part of the DR. THe SR is going to be 10+ your level (not effective level) so it'll be really low. Your saves, though will be really good. You'll have high attributes and a +10 to each skill, so you'll be about equally good at all skills, but excel at none.

You'll also be a wiz at combat with +25 to hit, high attributes, +20 damage. You won't know how to use many weapons, but even with the -4 you'll be better then a 12th level fighter.

AS for concept, I'd go with a simple farmhand who does amazing things and decides to travel and help people.
