[QUOTE="steakburger, post: 2502466, member: 35549"] Ding ding ding! Problem solved. As I stated earlier, the PCs are fighting a very strong enemy for the big end-campaign fight. I might as well just say who it is...Yeenoghu, the "Gnoll Prince" as he calls himself. He is 4 levels higher than the PCs, which calls for a handicap. I've decided that the blind wizard will cast spells to buff the PCs before Yeenoghu arrives. That leaves him with one 9th level spell, three 8th level spells, and three 7th level spells, four of everything else. Then the PCs fight their pre-end-campaign battle:] ...It should be somewhat of a challenge but not overpowering. Now if the PCs screw up again, and one of them dies, the wizard will have to use his last 9th level wish spell to revive him. Yeenoghu arrives at the scene two turns after his vassal is killed. This gives the wizard time to cast two spells before his arrival. But if he's out of 9th level spells, looks like he can't cast Summon Monster IX, or it could be worse if the PCs do something compltely idiotic (like last time:\) A worst-case scenario is if more than one of them dies...then the wizard can't resurrect all of them, and has to resort to limited wish for raise dead instead.
