Help with a prestige class

First Post
I am working on the idea for a prestige class, though I am really bad at the actual building process. I DO have a name picked out (Master of Magics) and the basic concept (A wizard who gives up fullcaster an higher levels of power to master the spells he knows.). This is what I am looking at so far:

REQUIREMENTS:
Feats: Skill Focus: Knowledge (arcana), Skill Focus: Spellcraft, Spellcasting Prodigy (Out of Player's Guide to Faerun.)
Skills: Spellcraft 7 ranks.
Special: Cannot yet have access to third level spells.
Special: Must have access to the Spell Mastery feat.

1 Spell Mastery, New Magics
2 +1 level of existing spellcasting class, Spell Mastery
3 +1 level of existing spellcasting class, Spell Mastery
4 +1 level of existing spellcasting class, True Mastery
5 Spell Thematics
6 +1 level of existing spellcasting class, Spell Mastery
7 +1 level of existing spellcasting class, Spell Mastery
8 +1 level of existing spellcasting class, Spell Mastery
9 True Mastery
10 +1 level of existing spellcasting class, Innate Spell, (Name Unknown)

Spell Mastery, as the feat.
New Magics, at every level the Master of Magics gains three new spells known.
True Mastery, select one spell you have mastered with Spell Mastery, and reduce the level by one.
Spell Thematics, as the feat.
Innate Spell, as the feat.
(Name Unknown) Select one metamagic feat with a slot adjustment of one. All of your mastered spells are now affected by this ability without raising the level of the spell.

(When typing it out, it looks more fleshed out than I thought.) Any advice or comments will be appreciated.

Really weak, although True Mastery is interesting. But being able to cast a few spells at one level lower, one spell as a spell-like ability, and spells with one free weak metamagic feat is not worth seven levels of caster progression. Not even close.

I'd provide spellcasting progression at all but 1st and, say, 5th levels.

I would agree with comrade raoul. Dropping a level from a spell is only good if you haven't lost caster levels. As the character will be eventually casting 3-4 levels behind this bonus is only a slight reduction of the penalty. I would suggest caster levels at 2,3,4,5,7,8,9,10 or if you feel slightly stingy 2,3,4,6,7,8,10

I'd go with Sledge's 'Stingy' version, and also take away two of the Spell Mastery Feats, say at levels 4 and 9.

Otherwise, a very cool PrC.

I went with the stingy spellcaster progression, took away two Spell Masteries, and slightly rearranged the ones that were there. How does that look now?

Also, any name ideas for the (Name Unknown) ability?
