i am dming on tuesday to a campaign (only one player) and i need some help with a certain battle. it's more of a cutscene and the player will use a PC who will die at the battle.
the battle is between a high level warlock and 2 wizards-5 paladins-1 low level cleric. the player will play one of the 2 wizards(the apprentice) or one of the paladins. as they riding in the night the warlock will flank them and kill them.
i want help finding what level should the characters be to make the battle a little challenging but still kill them all + a way to control the area so that the player won't ride away from the battle. how can i obscure the fact that he is a warlock? what level should the other character be if the warlock is around 13-14?
