Heh, this is something I've thought about in the past, but have never gotten to do in a game :) Some questions you might ask what her character might respond to are: How do you see sorcerous magic? Gift of the gods, runs in the bloodline of dragons? How did your friends view your "easy" aquisition of magic, rather than long hours of studying illusion. Did you use your natural magic for pranks when you were younger? How do you see Mystra? Mother, older sister, best friend, partner in crime, etc What might cause you to leave your village and become an adventurer? Using these, ask questions like, if Mystra is your mother, and magic is a gift from the gods, is it REALLY good for you to be using it to make Uncle Finegar's ears grow? Unless it's set in stone allready, I'd advise against using magic weapon under the sorcerer list. Allways try to use cleric spells for things like that if you can, especially non-scaling ones. A good tip would be to try and choose things that have effects that raise with level (instead of just being a +1). If you REALLY need to get a +1 weapon (IIRC, the spell doesn't stack with an allready magic weapon), just cast it as a cleric :) There are so many good level one spells, pick one that the character could use and run with it Oh, yeah, one reccomendation I would make is for her to take a prestige class that is divine/arcane magic friendly, maybe looking at the Hathran and True Necromancer for ideas. Splitting spell casting classes can allways hurt in power. As for items, umm, if she's going to no-armor route, (which I kinda hope ), anything that would add to ac is good. Amulet of natural armor, ring of protection, etc. This is especially important if you're not going to take mage armor as an arcane spell. On that note, investing in a mithral buckler is allways a good idea for a mage (no spellcraft penalty!) As for character tricks... umm, you can use your familiar to deliver touch spells such as healing without you having to get into the fray (also usefull if the party is split up in a fight. Well, I've got to head out and work on a homework project, but if you've got any more questions I'll be checking here latter.
