[QUOTE="mac1504, post: 4988714, member: 774"] I'm planning on reworking a combat encounter from H3:Pyramid of Shadows into a skill challenge and could use some assistance. Some spoilers follow below; you've been warned. Right now the combat encounter is taken from the Encounter G2: Maze of Lost Souls. My idea was to speed this encounter a long by making it into a skill challenge. The longer the PCs are floundering through the maze (failing Dungeoneering checks) the more psychic damage they take from the wailing souls. I'd like to make a final fail result being a battle with a ghost (to keep it quick). So far I have the SC set to complexity 3 with the following notes on skills: Dungeoneering (DC25): A successful check on Dungeoneering moves the group down a path that leads them closer to the end of the maze, and away from the sounds of moaning. A failure on this skill check results in everyone in the group suffering 5 points of psychic damage as the group is led into a dead end and suffers from the wailing of the souls within the walls. Only one aid another is allowed on this roll. Perception(DC25): A successful check allows a PC to notice that some spirits are attempting to assist the party but are being silenced by the more malevolent ones. A first successful check opens up the ability to use a Religion check. Religion (DC25): When opened by a succesful Perception check, a successful Religion check allows a PC to perform a Prayer that allows them to hear the silenced souls. Their message is one of revenge against Karavakos. Once a success is had, the spirits will grant a +2 (cumulative with the other bonuses) to Dungeoneering as they help to navigate the party to the Shadowstone room. Arcana (DC20): A successful result with Arcana enables the PC to recognize a confluence of power emanating from a section of the maze, and allows the group a +2 bonus on the next Dungeoneering roll. A successful check also reveals that the confluence of power is shadow based. A roll is allowed on every Dungeoneering check to provide a +2 bonus. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Any thoughts or suggestions for improving and fleshing out this encounter would be greatly appreciated.
