Well, here's a run down. On the continent of Avantasia, a religious cult has risen called the Aven-Tari. The cult is based around Aven, the supreme god of all. He incorporates many different virtues(drawn from the Code of Chivalry). Avantasia, a largely unexplored world, has not seen the grace of the gods for approx. 1000yrs. That is, until the Aven-Tari rise, and at the vanguard of the force is Cedric, Virtue of Justice, a nigh-invincible being who has so far commanded the growing armies of the Aven-Tari. The Aven-Tari supports justice and goodness within the world, and believe that when they can bring Aven to this world, entering in an age of glory, under the rule of a true god! Fun fact is? Aven, he is actually the god of nightmares, well, Supreme Being, born of Nightmares(can't wait to drop that on the players haha) Anyways, Gabriel, High Arcanist of the Kingdom of Frey, is forced to flee the besieged Kjeldengarden to the Shattered Isles. On the way he hires a couple mercs(the players) to help him find an ancient temple, and hopefully, magical gateway that could possibly change the course of the war. So far, early into the campaign, the players have found out that the Aven-Tari are in fact, also on the islands. Now, Gabriel plans to send an expedition to find an agent of the Kingdom of Frey, sent to explore the island. Long story short, this agent has found an entrance to the deep roads(yes dwarven tunnels) and has since gone there to find an entrance to a large temple complex located at the center of the island(inaccessible obviously). In this cave system they find the Myconid empire, and are tasked with finding and stopping a fiery threat to the empire, in exchange for guidance through the labyrinthine caves. they defeat the young fire dragon serving the Aven-Tari(hopefully >.>), and are able to proceed through the caves to the temple. They get ambushed by the Aven-Tari and the session ends. Now, in the future they need to find an artifact to activate the temple gate, and then assault the temple itself in order to control, and activate the gate, which ends in a "Dragon Age" esque planar breach, in which Aven, and his nightmares begin to flood the world, starting in the isles. As far as I have at this point, the players and Gabriel(and a few companions) are able to escape the carnage and flee back to Avantasia. They must work together to unite the kingdom, etc etc, and strike back at Aven. Well, here's where your part comes in, knowing what you do now, please, by all means, throw out generalized ideas, or specific ones, that you think could work here. Any and all ideas are accepted, and any questions will be answered asap. Thanks for reading everyone!
