How about this one? This gives Sorcerer/Wizards a significant power boost, but would need more bookkeeping. ARCANE FLEXIBILITY [General] Your can prepare spells or regain spell slots as a higher level wizard or sorcerer in exchange for preparing spells or regaining spell slots as a lower level sorcerer or wizard. Prerequisites: Arcane Synergy, any metamagic feat, ability to cast 2nd-level spells as a wizard and as a sorcerer. Benefit: When you prepare spells or regain spell slots, you may choose to do so as a wizard or sorcerer two levels higher in exchange for doing so as a sorcerer or wizard two levels lower. This affects all aspects of spellcasting, e.g. caster level checks for penetrating spell resistance, level-dependent variables for spells, spells per day (including bonus spells for high ability scores and being a specialist wizard), etc. This feat does not increase the number of spells known by the character. Example: Doran is a Wiz5/Sor4 with the Arcane Flexibility feat. He could choose to prepare spells and regain spell slots as a Wiz3/Sor6, Wiz5/Sor4 or Wiz7/Sor2. He does not gain knowledge of any additional spells. However, he could use the higher level spell slots to prepare or cast metamagiced spells. Special: You can gain this feat multiple times. Each time you gain this feat again, you must be able to cast spells of one level higher as a wizard and as a sorcerer, e.g. to gain the feat twice, you must be able to cast 3rd-level spells as both a wizard and a sorcerer. The effects of this feat stack, but when you increase and reduce your wizard and sorcerer levels, you must do so by an even number*. For example, if Doran takes this feat again as a Wiz5/Sor7, he could choose to prepare spells and regain spell slots as a Wiz1/Sor11, Wiz3/Sor9, Wiz5/Sor7, Wiz7/Sor5 or Wiz9/Sor3. *Behind the screen: I did this to ensure that you would have to give up an entire level of spells in one spellcasting class in order to bump up the level of spells available in the other class. Otherwise, a Wiz6/Sor7 could gain 4th-level wizard spell slots without giving up his 3rd-level sorcerer spell slots by preparing spells as a Wiz7/Sor6. Comments?
