Part 1: Into The Brewing Cauldron. “Great beginnings make successful enterprises.” Darmonite aphorism. It is a mild and rainy autumn day, just outside the town most call Cauldron. The town owns its unusual name to the fact that it’s built inside the crater of an extinct volcano on the western side of the Brown Mountains. Some might say this is foolish but the gnomes who founded the city didn’t mind being called foolish. Besides, living in a deep crater has its advantages. The walls of the crater provide natural defences to its inhabitants. Cauldron is only accessible by flight or by crossing one of the three tunnels that pierce the surrounding rock wall.
