SO I saw this advertised on TV and did a google search to find this site (including a cool demo game to play online)

Anyway apparently its got tilebased terrain (building to 3D landscapes) and collectable mini's ranging from fantasy sets through modern army and future sci-fi sets.

So have you played it
Is if fun?
Should I drop the $$ on buying it...

Note that the figures are significantly bigger than regular DDM, more on a line with MageKnight.

Cheers!

And I play it with my daughter (10).

Getting multiple core sets would rock just for the terrain for minis combat, if you play using hexes at least.

I too play with my son, 6. A good little skirmish game, I have also played out some of the scenarios with my buddies. And I have used the Mini's in D&D. But they are a little bigger, but functional.

Great. Thanks for the replies, my son is currently 5 (6 in February) so I may just by this for his Xmas present (well thats what I'll tell his mother:))

I played with my friends when I first got it, but they tire of anything far too quickly. So then I just played single player for a while. Yup. It's fun, but good lord the thing takes 30 effing minutes to put together and take apart. Once I complete the level, I have to take a moment and catch my breath x.x

Try playing Magic Realm, someday ;)

I have it and 4 of the expansion packs. It's a good game, not just for kids, but for adults too. I would go so far as to say that the components alone make it worthwhile.

Being a bit of a fantasy nut, I'm trying to replace all the sci-fi and post 1500 AD historical units with fantasy ones from various expansion packs, but that's just me. :p
