Vampres, drow, tieflings all scream of brooding emo guy.  He's a loner, a man of his own following his own code.  I actually have vampire as an official race in my campaign, yet pcs are strongly urged not to pick it and if they do they better have a better backstory than that of "Angel".  or 'Dritzt" .  I"m using a ampire class found in Steampunk OGL.  Its very low powered for a vampire class and allows for racial feats to be chosen to equate it out a bit.  There is also the dhampire class, found in The vampire d20 book you can find over at rpgnow.  I really liked this no la class in my last game as i wa able to make pcs that had strong vampire traits without going overboard. Essentially the class had no ability scores adjustments, instead players suffered their Negative their bonus modifier in the sunlight to all physical abilities.  You at least got a -1.</blockquote>
