When I was 10 or so a friend and I played Curse of the Azure Bonds on his Commadore64. We started and restarted games all the time, just for the heck of it. We got to the point of just randomly pushing our hands on the keyboard when it came time to choose the character's names - it was just too much trouble thinking of real ones. Thus, the fighter TYRC was born. We ended up pronouncing it Tyrac, but TYRC was the proper way to spell it, capital letters and all. TYRC survived many reincarnations, and made the transition from computer to tabletop and back several times. For some reason, that name just struck us as enormously funny, yet distinctinve. We always knew that, whatever party we had, TYRC was the big badass buff fighter dude.</blockquote>
