Hit Dice and Grim and Gritty Reivsed

Aust Diamondew

First Post
I've decided to run a d20 modern game using grim and gritty revised rules. A few days ago I looked them over decided I liked them and got group of people who are willing to start playing within the next week. After looking throgh them again I realized that the size of your hit dice doesn't matter anymore (or did I miss something?).

So I need advice on how to balance out the normally high HD classes with the normally low HD classes (unless I missed something). Should I give them more skill points? Give classes bonuses to soak every few levels based on their original HD? Maybe increase some saving throw bonuses?
Any advice?

Thanks.

PS.
And sorry if there's another thread that has already adressed this, if so please direct me to it.

Well if you really wanted to do something like that, you could add extra pips or bars depending on hit dice. I think Ken wanted to get rid of hit points entirely. You should try to find some of the original posts when the revised edition was released, I know people were talking about these type of things.

If you really wanted to make it appear like hit points mattered more, you could change the soak.. maybe instead of just the con bonus, you could do a con bonus then a bonus for hit die (0 for 6, 1 for 8, 2 for 10, 3 for 12) or something similar. You'd probably have to give some extra soak due to the tough heros talents..

Anyway try to find the old thread, I know there was a lot of discussion on hit points and how hit point feats would change the game, etc.
