Definition - Hiver of the Day A special honor bestowed upon a special Hiver who had dedicated himself to service above and beyond the call of random silliness. This long standing ancient tradition began last Wednesday (for no apparent reason) and the members of the Hiver of the Day Selection Committee have met in dark smoke filled rooms (which alone is difficult to achieve, since none of us smoke) every day since then to decide who among us is worthy of the distinction of being granted the title. Said Hiver is then given the honor of having their name proudly proclaimed in a place of recognition on the World Wide Web, at an Internet location where an estimated 60,000 people go every day! Furthermore, at the discretion of the Committee, the named Hiver may contribute suggestions for the other four special HiveMind categories named for each day (the daily cheese, animal, color and saying). Some of the more adventurous Hivers even attempt to then create a sentence using all of the daily selections.
