This massive raptor has deep red plumage with white accents. Related to Giant Eagles, Blood Kites are not as intelligent but more aggressive. When the two species meet, Blood Kites generally defer to their nobler kin. As a flying mount they can carry up to 346 lbs as a light load. Blood Kites trained for war often have levels of warrior and wear masterwork quality light or medium armor with a masterwork exotic saddle.

These shadowy raptors make fair long distance mounts and are capable of carrying heavy loads, 932 lbs as a light load. If forced into combat they prefer to fight on the ground with their powerful beaks rather than in the sky. Night Gyr’s can see 10 times as far as a human in low-light conditions.
