At every odd-numbered level reached, the holy liberator gains new spells per days as if she had also gained a level in whatever divine spellcasting class she belonged to before he added the prestige class.

Detect Evil (Sp): At will, a holy liberator can use detect evil, as the spell.

Smite Evil (Su): Once per day, a holy liberator may attempt to smite evil with one normal melee attack. She adds her Charisma bonus (if any) to her attack roll and deals 1 extra point of damage per holy liberator level. If the holy liberator accidentally smites a creature that is not evil, the smite has no effect, but the ability is still used up for that day.

At 5th level, and at every five levels thereafter, the holy liberator may smite evil one additional time per day, as indicated on Table: The Holy Liberator, to a maximum of three times per day at 10th level.

Turn Undead (Su): For the purposes of determining her ability to turn undead, a holy liberator’s class levels stack with her levels from all her other classes from which she has gained the ability to turn undead. This creature may willingly act as a guardian, helper or mount.

Once per day, as a full-round action, a holy liberator may magically call her companion from the celestial realms in which it resides. This ability is the equivalent of a spell of a level equal to the holy liberator’s level. The companion immediately appears adjacent to the holy liberator and remains for 6 hours plus 2 hours per holy liberator level; it may be dismissed at any time as a free action. The companion is the same creature each time it is summoned, though the holy liberator may release a particular companion from service.

Each time the companion is called, it appears in full health, regardless of any damage it may have taken previously. The companion also appears wearing or carrying any gear it had when it was last dismissed. Calling a companion is a conjuration (calling) effect.

Should the holy liberator’s companion die, it immediately disappears, leaving behind any equipment it was carrying. The holy liberator may not summon another companion for thirty days or until she gains a holy liberator level, whichever comes first, even if the companion is somehow returned from the dead. During this thirty-day period, the holy liberator takes a –1 penalty on attack and weapon damage rolls.

Subversion (Su): By spending 5 minutes in conversation with a character who is under the influence of a charm or compulsion effect, a holy liberator of at least 8th level can help that character break free of the enchantment. As a full-round action, the holy liberator touches the enchanted character (making a melee-attack role if necessary) and invokes the divine power of her deity.
SO I took UA's paladin of freedom, DotF's holy liberator and screwed them on to a base of UA's prestige paladin. Does this make sense? Any wierd over powered stuff I didn't notice? ------ Holy Liberator Hit Die: d10. Requirements To qualify to become a holy liberator, a character must fulfill all of the following criteria. Alignment: Chaotic good. Base attack bonus: +4 Skills: Diplomacy 5 ranks, Knowledge (religion) 5 ranks Feat: Iron Will Special: Ability to turn undead Class Skills The holy liberator’s class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Bluff (Cha), Concentration (Con), Craft (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Handle Animal (Cha), Heal (Wis), Intimidate (Cha), Knowledge (religion) (Int), Profession (Wis), Ride (Dex), and Sense Motive (Wis). Skill Points: 2 + Int modifier. Table: The Holy Liberator
Level BaB Fort Ref Will Special Spells per Day 1st +1 +2 +0 +0 detect evil, smite evil 1/day, turn undead +1 level of existing class 2nd +2 +3 +0 +0 Celestial companion, divine grace 3rd +3 +3 +1 +1 Aura of resolve, divine health +1 level of existing class 4th +4 +4 +1 +1 5th +5 +4 +1 +1 Smite evil 2/day +1 level of existing class 6th +6 +5 +2 +2 7th +7 +5 +2 +2 +1 level of existing class 8th +8 +6 +2 +2 Subversion 9th +9 +6 +3 +3 +1 level of existing class 10th +10 +7 +3 +3 Smite evil 3/day
Class Features All of the following are class features of the holy liberator. Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Holy liberators are proficient with all simple and martial weapons, with all types of armor (heavy, medium, and light), and with shields (except tower shields). Spells per Day: A holy liberator’s training focuses on divine spell casting. For example a 7th level cleric/1st level holy liberator would turn undead as a 8th level cleric. Divine Grace (Su): At 2nd level, a holy liberator gains a bonus equal to her Charisma bonus (if any) on all saving throws. Aura of Resolve (Su): Beginning at 3rd level, a holy liberator is immune to all charm and compulsion effects (magical or otherwise). Each ally within 10 feet of her gains a +4 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and compulsion effects. This ability functions while the holy liberator is conscious, but not if she is unconscious or dead. Divine Health (Ex): At 3rd level, a holy liberator gains immunity to all diseases, including supernatural and magical diseases. Celestial companion (Sp): Upon reaching 2nd level, a holy liberator can call a celestial cat, dog, eagle, hawk, horse, owl, pony or wolf as a companion. The enchanted character immediately makes a new saving throw using her own saving through bonus plus the holy liberator’s charisma bonus. If the result equals or exceeds the DC of the old saving throw, the character is freed from the charm ore compulsion effect. Code of Conduct: A holy liberator must be of chaotic good alignment and loses all class abilities if she ever willingly commits an evil act. Additionally, a holy liberator’s code requires that she help those in need (provided they do not use the help for evil ends), and punish those who harm or threaten innocents. Associates: While she may adventure with characters of any good or neutral alignment, a holy liberator will never knowingly associate with evil characters, nor will she continue an association with someone who consistently offends her moral code. A holy liberator may accept only henchmen, followers, or cohorts who are chaotic good. Ex-Holy Liberators A holy liberator who ceases to be chaotic good, who willfully commits an evil act, or who grossly violates the code of conduct loses all holy liberator spells and abilities (including the service of the holy liberator’s companion, but not weapon, armor, and shield proficiencies). She may not progress any farther in levels as a holy liberator. She regains her abilities and advancement potential if she atones for her violations (see the atonement spell description), as appropriate. THE HOLY LIBERATOR’S COMPANION The holy liberator’s companion is superior to a normal animal of its kind and has special powers, as described below. A holy liberator’s companion is treated as a magical beast, not an animal, for the purpose of all effects that depend on its type (though it retains an animal’s HD, base attack bonus, saves, skill points, and feats). Natural Armor Adj.: The number on the table is an improvement to the companion’s existing natural armor bonus. Str Adj.: Add this figure to the companion’s Strength score. Int: The companion’s Intelligence score. Empathic Link (Su): The holy liberator has an empathic link with her companion out to a distance of up to 1 mile. The holy liberator cannot see through the companion’s eyes, but they can communicate empathically. Note that even intelligent mounts see the world differently from humans, so misunderstandings are always possible. Because of this empathic link, the holy liberator has the same connection to an item or place that her companion does, just as with a master and his familiar (see Familiars). Improved Evasion (Ex): When subjected to an attack that normally allows a Reflex saving throw for half damage, a companion takes no damage if it makes a successful saving throw and half damage if the saving throw fails. Share Spells: At the holy liberator’s option, she may have any spell (but not any spell-like ability) she casts on herself also affect her companion. The companion must be within 5 feet at the time of casting to receive the benefit. If the spell or effect has a duration other than instantaneous, it stops affecting the companion if it moves farther than 5 feet away and will not affect the companion again even if it returns to the holy liberator before the duration expires. Additionally, the holy liberator may cast a spell with a target of “You” on her companion (as a touch range spell) instead of on herself. A holy liberator and her companion can share spells even if the spells normally do not affect creatures of the companion’s type (magical beast). Share Saving Throws: For each of its saving throws, the companion uses its own base save bonus or the holy liberator’s, whichever is higher. The companion applies its own ability modifiers to saves, and it doesn’t share any other bonuses on saves that the master might have. Blood bond: The companion gains a +2 bonus on all attacks, checks and saves if it witnesses the holy liberator being threatened or harmed. This bonus lasts as long as the threat is immediate and apparent. Spell Resistance (Ex): A companion’s spell resistance equals its master’s holy liberator level + 5. To affect the companion with a spell, a spellcaster must get a result on a caster level check (1d20 + caster level) that equals or exceeds the companion’s spell resistance.
