I'm curious so thought I'd start two threads, one for D&D and one for all other games. This thread is for D&D. Edition doesn't matter.

The rules are simple. It needs to be 1) a live game, played in real time (sorry PBP gamers); 2) it needs to involve other people (sorry solo gamers), and; 3) it needs to be hours spent actually playing the game, so prep doesn't count, making characters doesn't count, reading the books doesn't count, etc. Only time actually playing at the table (whether real or virtual).

Simple question really. How many hours in this calendar year (2025) have you spent actually playing D&D?

No idea. Goal is bi weekly. Got sick mised a few sessions. Sometimes its one every 3 weeks sometimes 3 weeks in a row.

December/January is often a washout maybe 2-3 sessions. Christmas, New Years, Drunk week erm camping.

20 sessions maybe 4 hours give or take a year.

That's group 1 though. I had 3 at one point but burnout. Add another 10 or so 2-3 hour sessions maybe. They were bi weekly as well.

60+ easily.

that is like only 8 sessions for 60+hrs??

Yeah, I think if you play D&D with any regularity, it’ll easily be more than 60hr in a year. I thought you were going to ask monthly or weekly.

A single game lasts 3 hour minimum so even if you play once a month, your numbers are going to be pushing 40-60 hours.

But, for the purposes of this pole, my live games don’t use D&D anymore unless people don’t show up and we need a pick up game (I only play that in pbp which doesn’t count for this pole - but if it did, I’d say it takes up 1 hour/day)

So I said 11-20 because we might have the occasional pick up game that is D&D

I think a few here dont have regular games.

My D&D games are currently all monthly weekend sessions (this will change when Enemy Within finishes)

The Friday night is about 4 hours. The Saturday about 7 hours so about 110 hours so far.
last year when I was running Age of Worms in the week you could double that.

That’s on top of two weekly sessions (one 2 hours one 3 hours so that’s another 200 hours so far) of WFRP 4e
