OK, here's a house varient I haven't had the chance to use yet, but I've been telling people about so they know they have the option. In Magic of Incarnum, there is a class called the Totemist, which is sort of like the MoI version of the Barbarian. Illiterate, shapes soulmelds drawn from creatures of nature and so forth. Very strong bonds with nature and the like. Now, in Weapons of Legacy, there is a weapon called Ur. It's a stone hand-axe that's treated as though it were steel. From the legacy powers it acquires, it seems perfectly logical to me that, given that MoI gives rules for binding magical items to chakra, a person playing a Totemist be able to bind Ur to either their hand chakra, or their totem chakra, granting the same bonuses either way. Bonuses which change, depending on which spirit is currently granting Ur its intelligence. When the Deer spirit is awake, it grants +2 initiative, +2 Reflex, and +2 on skill checks such as Run, Jump, and others similar. The wolf grants +1 on attack and damage rolls, scent, and Diehard, even if you don't meet the prereq. The Bear grants a +2 bonus to Str, and you gain the ability to Rage 1/day. If you already have Rage, you can rage 1 extra time per day.
