How about publishers get together for Ebay charity auctions?

If one looks through the discussions on the Book of Erotic Fantasy and the Book of Vile Darkness, a lot of gamers are concerned about how they and RPGs are perceived. So... how about changing that public perception and doing something about it?

As an idea, perhaps publishers should unite together and auction off the #1 copy, or autographed copies of certain products, ob that giant flea market of cyberspace eBay and donate the proceeds to charity. The funds generated might not be amazingly great, but I'm sure the charities would be grateful.

Just my 2 cents.

Sounds like a lot of work for very little payoff.

Companies more interested in turning that perception around are probably better off continuing to support gaming events and troops overseas ala Steve Jackson Games.
