How are you using True20?

I bought the True20 companion PDF yesterday since it was on sale..... and yeah, its very worth a buy. Lots of very nice stuff in there, without a doubt.

Iwatt, I have to ask... Is "Dies The Fire" based on the S.M.Stirling novel of the same name? If so, that sounds like such a cool idea! Very, very cool series there, filled with some interesting opportunities for RP for the right kind of group.

Enjoy,
Flynn

yes, I'm in a PbP running DtF in True20:

If you have any conversion notes laying around from this game, I'd love to see them. Just today I was considering YotZ for True20, and that it would be cool.

here it is. I never finished it since my players got too brave at some point. I did come up with a zombie horde, based on the combat unit template, that worked perfectly to instill fear when they started getting cocky about zombie minions :D

  • Are you using any of the published settings?
  • What products are must haves? And why?
  • Are you incorporating house rules? Are these for flavor or to overcome limitations?
  • What are your experiences with it?
I don't plan to use any published settings, only homebrew worlds (although I have been considering Transhuman Space for a True20 scifi game).

I got (almost) all the True20 material by Green Ronin and third party publishers. Must have are the Core Book and Bestiary obviously, but Fantasy Paths (lots of pregenerated NPCs) and Companion (could be seen as the UA of True20) are also nice to have.

I will use the houserule that much simplifies the damage track system (found on the True20 forums).
