Message: <blockquote data-quote="Chimera" data-source="post: 2149923" data-attributes="member: 2002">The way one becomes a God depends greatly on the pantheon and mythos.  All that was required in the ancient Greek mythos was that one eat some ambrosia.  Pretty simple if you can manage to obtain it.  The Norse gods had their special apples.Seems to me that the Divine Pantheon is the Ultimate Clique (tm).  Take every exclusionary and elitist clique you can ever imagine and magnify it by divine magnitudes.They aren't going to just accept some upstart into their midst.  You don't make yourself a god if they don't want you to become one and the politics of that rise have got to be horrific in the extremis.  I kinda think that you have to find a patron that is already in the clique and work your way up in their heirarchy for a few centuries or even millenia, gaining the acceptance of other gods while you gain in power and work toward having actual worshippers and such.But hey, if you want to run a game where your characters become gods, you've got to make it a lot easier to accomplish, and there's nothing inherently wrong with that.</blockquote>
