Message: <blockquote data-quote="belegost" data-source="post: 400719" data-attributes="member: 7571">When I was in 4th grade, someone brought D&D (one of the boxed sets) in during the last week of school.  I was handed a character sheet on a 3x5 index card with stats that I didn't understand and a list of equipment.  After just a few minutes of a typical 4th grade hack and slash, I was hooked.  I picked up a boxed set right away.When I started middle school (6th grade), I had to walk across the street to the high school and wait for my father, a teacher, to take me home.  Luckily, some of his high school seniors stayed after and used his room to play 1st Edition AD&D.  They took pity on me and I was able to play for about 90 minutes a day for almost a year with the "big" kids.  I learned a lot and I'm still thankful that they let someone so much younger join their game.</blockquote>
