Message: <blockquote data-quote="Lord Pendragon" data-source="post: 2486252" data-attributes="member: 707">I've been interested in gaming since HS, and did manage to play in a regular Shadowrun game during college, as well as a couple one-off 2e games.  But it wasn't until I went to Japan that I got to be part of a regular, well-run D&D game (3e).  The DM was the husband of a very old friend, and the game was very fun.Flash-forward three years later, and I'm back in the U.S., but I've got the gaming bug bad.  I'd been a long-time resident of ENWorld, so I started posting and reading in the Gamers Seeking Gamers forum, where I eventually found a group.  They were decent folk, and we gamed for a few months together, but in the end I didn't really click with most of that group.Luckily, one of the players in that group, the one whom I got along with best, had been doing some looking around of his own, and eventually he formed his own group from various sources, and invited me to be a part of it.  This is my current group.After gaming with the previous group, I did not really expect the new group to become good friends, although I was hoping we'd be friendly and game well together.  To my surprise and delight, they've become really close over the last year.  I enjoy doing things with them other than gaming.  In short, they've become friends whom I happen to game with, rather than gamers that I meet once a week.That's fantastic, sniffles!  I've been undergoing treatment myself this year, and my group came up many Saturdays, where we gamed with them in chairs and me in a hospital bed.  It was something I looked forward to the entire rest of the week.</blockquote>
