I needed an example, then. Because I'm explicitly talking about strategic stuff. The contention in the OP is that the wizard gets to do things like floating disk and rope trick and charm. Then the rogue gets to open locks and disarm traps and scout. That is, a bit of interaction pillar boost, with a lot more exploration pillar boost. So instead of just having light-weight oil and 10 foot poles, picture something like a mechanical, extensible metal pole (stole the idea from the Gray Mouser) which aids in climbing, but might also be useful in holding a door or opening one. If the invisibility cloak is lightweight, perhaps the rocket that creates a distraction is bulky. If potions and wands are easy for everyone to stow, perhaps certain rods are trouble to haul around. The cleric issue is another bit like the bags of holding that would need to be handled. However, with some care, I think it can be. Clerics, unless they have invested a lot in Str, will be somewhat behind the fighters. So you make armor and weapons heavy enough to eat some of the room, but still leave fighters some extra. It might require some tweaks to the math, to make that last few points of Str worth more for encumbrance purposes. Make magic bags have some real but reduced weight, and that will help too. As for Dex fighters, I don't necessarily see that as a complete drawback. A hybrid fighter will still have some Str, while a pure Dex fighter is a rogue built on a fighter chassis, and probably is compensated elsewhere--Dex already being a great stat for this guy. Again, not a complete solution, but part of a solution. Of course it would need other things mixed in, some of which will interact with strong clerics and Dex fighters in a different way.
