How do you go about creating an adventure?

Without that, I'll never be able to slog through the various parts of putting an adventure together. Rumours, hooks, plots, events, maps, encounters, NPCs and villians, treasure; often <strong><span style="color: red">some</span></strong> of these items are fun and practically set themselves up, but very rarely do <strong><span style="color: red">all</span></strong> of them do so. And it is when they all come together that my players will talk about it for weeks afterward.</p><p></p><p>-Dave</p><p>Unfortunately, since nothing I ever do is wholly original (or even mostly so) I don't have much to offer the community in the way of adventures or ideas which can be posted somewhere.
