The PC's fought an undead demon (Bloodlines adventure in Dungeon), and even though they had to escape, they managed to steal his +2 unholy longsword (disarm specialist in group). The demon wanted revenge, and he wanted his sword back. To this end, he hired some hobgoblins to purchase it from the PC's. Paying a lot of money, they claimed that they needed it to kill elves in the forest. The neutral players in the group didn't care, and the cleric's protests fell on deaf ears. The PCs defeated the undead demon and regained the sword. They sell it again. To a blackguard who wants to use it to kill good clerics. So now they have invented a new money-making plan. Sell magic items, steal it back and sell it again.
