I worked at the truck gate of the local Kmapart DC for about a year. We kept some seriously strong air freshener out there. Some of those people (not just males) were criminally unwashed! One guy stepped out of the over-the-road version of a garbage house. It was that deep inside. The funk was unbelievable. Despite it being cold, I ran out the opposite door, as I didn't have to check him in, the other guy did. The man's clothing was filthy. He wore no shoes and had open sores all over his body. The moment he left, the guy who checked him in ran out, dry heaving. We opened both doors to the place got out of the line of the wind and I stood there spraying the air freshener for something like 20+ seconds straight. Then once it was ruled "habitable" again, I went through with the Lysol and seriously hosed down (to 'wet and running with lysol' status) everything he'd even come close to being near. Then there was the Hillbilly. A young red headed guy who was literally dirty from head to toe. Smelled like....I have no idea. It was bad. His front teeth all looked like they'd snapped off at the root. Some people, I'd spray the air freshener the moment they got out of sight. Some, the moment they started moving away. I once asked my boss if it would be a problem if I started spraying people directly. :] After the open sores guy, we declared that anyone looking and smelling like that would be prevented from entering the truck gate. We got management support of that too! Sir, stay outside. Stand down wind. Do not enter this office or the front office, or you will be permanently banned from Kmapart property....
