Make a generalist wizard so you don't limit your access to any spell. Some items have race requirements. I think you'd be better off as an elf (sun elf if you can for int bonus). You need intelligence to be a wizard, but attributes aren't that important, item-creation-wise. Skill-wise, uh, i think some items may require that you possess some artistic ability. Take Craft (painting) about 5 ranks. Take spellcraft as much as you can, take some knowledge (arcana) also. Alchemy could also be taken for flavor. Take the "Craft Wondrous Item" feat. Take the "Magical Artisan (Craft Wondrous Item)" feat (from Forgotten Realms Campaign setting - if you can) You could also take the "Magical Artisan (Scribe scrolls)" feat, if you plan on making a lot of scrolls for yourself (which is always a good thing) Some items absolutely need a cleric's participation. If there is a cleric in the party, np. If there isn't, take the Leadership feat, and make your cohort a cleric of the God(dess) of magic. Your wizard will be either going on adventures to gain XP and to make money to build items, or he'll be stuck in his laboratory making items. That's what I could think of on the top of my head. Hope it helps! And welcome aboard! Maitre D
