How much are spells worth?

What would be a fair trade for a paladin if the class doesn't have access to spells?

I was thinking of somekind of divine frenzy, like rage but slightly different.

+4 Str, +2 Sacred bonus to AC, the Mettle ability and double damage on smites, "burn" (lose) 3 hp's per round. Lasts 3+cha mod rounds. Can end prematurely, is fatigued afterwards.

11th level +6 Str, +3 to AC.

17th level, no longer winded

20th level +8 Str, +4 AC

Same amount of uses as a Barbarian of the same level.

What do you think? The way it's written now it seems like a very lethal thing to do and only usable in tight situations. But at higher levels it seems quite useful.

However, I got to thinking, I need something more original. Maybe somekind of party buff ability.

Divine Frenzy: take subdual damage instead, not every paladin should be a martyr.

Party Buff: Magic Circle against evil is a nice party buff for good creatures. There's also Consecrate
 

Isn't there an option in Unearthed Arcana that does Paladins without spells? I can recall the Ranger for certain, but I don't have my book handy.

Is the point here to create something unique? If not, that might work for you.
