How much damage does it take to destroy a stone hall?

As in the title :) How much damage would it take for someone to destroy, or collapse a 5 foot wide, 10 foot high section of a hall?

How about a typical stone wall?

How much damage does an area of effect spell have to do before it leaves a crater?

It's covered in the DMG. Breaching a 10' cube takes about 800 hit points of damage - but don't forget to take hardness 8 into account.

For exact (and accurate) numbers, look it up.

In the Stronghold Builders Guidebook it states that unworked stone takes 900 hp's damage with a hardness of 8 before it is breached. Hewn Stone takes 540 hp's damage, Hardness of 8 also. There is also the opportunity to break the wall with one attempt The Break DC is 20 for unworked stone and 22 for hewn. Keep in mind this is for a 5 foot thick unworked stone and 3 foot thick hewn. Hope this helps.

Arbados seems to have been looking at the "Climb DC".
My DMG lists Break DCs at 50 and 65, respectively (for 3 and 5 ft. thick stone walls).
