I just need...The BOOK For every major campaign I run (basically other then pick up games and ones shots) I have a Book. Each campaign gets its own Book. It's a 2-3" 'Make Your Own Cover' view binder with alphabetical dividers. I illustrate or collage images for the cover of The Book and add a title. All necessary information, character sheets, maps, artwork and notes are placed into The Book under the appropriate letter. The info itself is originally handwritten and then 'typed up' on computer with a heading at the top (so I know where to file it). Since the majority of my players are artists, all their illustrations of characters, scenes, etc. also go into The Book. One of my Star Wars campaigns started with 5-7 pages and that Book now has over 200 pages. The Book comes with me to the game. The Book has everything I need. The Book is my friend. The Book is all! lol I usually have die and perhaps the rulebook or a sourcebook with me. My players all have dice, scrap paper and pencils and usually 6 out of 7 have a sketchbook and some art supplies (even just a pencil and inking pen). This and their imaginations are all they need. All I need is... The Book. lol AD
