Every one of them has something useful, and some rule that was vague in the phb that gets clarified on. Some are more useful then others though.

It actually depends on the sourcebook. I use WotC's splat books almost every session but that is because in my current campaign I am considering them Core books, thus allowing the players to use feats, skills and spells from them without any unusual requirements. Some of AEG's one word books get used on an inconsistant basis, with Mercenaries being the book of choice at the moment. I have all the Mongoose sourcebooks, Relics & Rituals and Spells & Spellcraft but I don't really use any of them, though that is more out of party choice and not mine. I'm actually quite fond of the Mongoose books and would really like to use them more but the group I currently play with is a bit quirky when it comes to their acceptance of "non-core" material.

considering the multitude of d20 materials in our group, we barely use any. 1 variant core class, some feats and 1 PrC from the splatbooks, and a few non-PH spells....

I realize the question is vague, and not that great since I'm lumping all sourcebooks in a general catagory. Also, the number of sourcebooks matters a lot. I use all of mine eventually, but I have too many to use week to week, it would impossible.

Since I carry my sourcebooks to the gaming room each session I don't use all my books every session. When I DM, I carry my PHB and the DMG, and maybe a location sourcebook or splatbook for some adventures. When I play I carry the PHB and a splatbook or two.

Well, it depends.

When creating characters or NPCs, I usually take a quick look at relavent books if I have the time. However, I usually do this ahead of time because I can usually remember a feat or two, or have the effect written down. I can build a character with Dragon's Toughness, but I don't need to have MotW around.

If I'm playing a spell caster, I usually bring lots of different books because they can have a wide variety of spells.

Hardly use the splatbooks at all, my biggest waste of money of money I've found.

I use PHB, CC1, CC2 most followed by DMG, MM, Scarred Lands Campaign Setting, and the Divine and Defeated in no particular order. I have R&R2 but haven't had call to use any of it yet.
