Message: <blockquote data-quote="Greybar" data-source="post: 1565617" data-attributes="member: 4938">Ascension is something of a background theme (amongst NPC forces) in my campaign, so I looked this over with some interest.1) I agree with your comment from today that the levels don't see to be worth it.  What if it also granted spell-casting levels on odd levels (which would be brand new for non-casters and additive for those already spell casters).  After all, when this is all done the character will be magically capable at least within their domains (at caster level 10 + divine rank if I remember right).  It might be a fudge, but one that matches up well enough.2) I think that (for my purposes anyway) I'd also want to see it aiming for 20 character levels + 20 ascendant (outsider) levels at a minimum instead of 40 character levels + 20 ascendant levels.  My desire for that is a bit more greedy - I have NPCs that I want to be pushing near to divinity, but I would rather they be in the low epic CR level rather than the CR40 to CR60 that this would state.  Just in raw terms, not that CR is likely a good way to phrase it at this power level.  In other words, if my PCs just breach into Epic they will be able to challenge the aspiring godling.Again, largely IMC reasoning that may not apply for you, but I like what ya done.john</blockquote>
