And you're ending the campaign THERE?!? ;) OK, yeah, I can see where the PCs-as-godlings can be a little unbalancing to an ongoing campaign. But, roll up new characters in the same world, and let the story continue from there. The world is plunged into darkness with the coming of a demon lord and his armies. The heroes, who were the worlds' last hope to counter the inevitable Apocalypse have failed, but in a heroic, self-sacrificing last stand are able to cling to victory in the face of certain defeat, and wrest godhood from the demon lord's hands. Now, the world struggles to rebuild, to finally banish the Howling Night and bring about a new Dawn. This is complicated by the mortal flaws and imperfections of the land's new pantheon, and the machinations of the old godling who had planned to ascend to the new gods' thrones himself. As Joseph Campbell said, "A god outgrown immediately becomes a life-destroying demon"…churning with bitterness at the failure of his plans for power, the godling Vona has become as much a threat to the world as the demon lord he planned to destroy. Yeah, I'd play that campaign….
