How to Ready an action - trying to get to grips with it, as dont usually do it

Ready an Action is an immediate reaction? It is triggered by an action (RAW) but think that any observable event can be used as the trigger ?</span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Verdana'"></span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Verdana'"></span><span style="font-size: 12px"><span style="color: silver"><span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">2. Readied Action is in and of itself a Standard Action.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-size: 12px"><span style="color: silver"><span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">You state the trigger & action. The DM tells you when the trigger is met (or you remind him) then your action occurs and your position in the initiative order moves to the slot before the creature that triggered the Readied Action.</span></span></span></p><p> </p><p></p><p></p></blockquote><p></p>
