Revised Spell: 3rd Ed Edition Reailty Figmentation - Illusion (Figment) Level: 3 Range: Medium (100 feet + 10 feet per caster level) Components: V, S Duration: Special Casting Time: 1 standard action Area of Effect: 40’ cube + 10’ cube per level Saving Throw: Special The Reailty Figmentation spell is an illusion that makes an area (and items in that area) appear less believable, whether the images are real or illusory. If the images are real, the spell gives onlookers a reason to believe that they are fake. For example, Reailty Figmentation could make a charging red dragon’s movements seem unrealistic, and also silence the sound of its claws raking against stone as it landed in a cavern. This could make enemies of the dragon believe that it's an illusion and take actions to disbelieve its existence. The same goes for a wall: you can make a ruined wall look tall, impressive, well built, and to have a gate where there was none previously. While Reailty Figmentation is powerful, its power are limited with changing the perception of reality. Therefore, it cannot create an object that is not there. Ex. The spell is cast upon a barbarian who is made to look like a wizard. While you cannot make another pair wizards appear (a la Mirror Image) you can make the area around him appear to be his house and home. Any objects in the area that are unwilling get a Saving throw to resist the effects. If characters make a successful saving throw, they are to be told that it is an illusion. This, however, does not make the illusion disappear, nor will it make the charging barbarian who looks like a wizard any less real. This spell can have all of the elements utilized in a Major Image spell, including sight, sound, smell and heat. Sometimes these are used primarily to mask an element, such as the case above where a dragon’s claws were silenced. Okay, revised. Thoughts?
