In a "Ghourmand Vale" session we had back on the 30th of October (which I apparently forgot to post about), the PCs:

Returned to Greyhawk City, where they were hired by my sorcerer PC's older brother to accompany him on his next merchant vessel trip on the Nyr Dyv, as he'd lost several ships before (on the nights of the full moon) and was concerned whatever happened to them might happen to this one - might be a good idea to have Trained Professional Adventurers on board
Agreed, and spent their days on board being bored (it was a week-long voyage) and the nights rotating night watch duties
On the morning of the coming full moon, an hour before dawn, the halfling rogue (invisible in the crow's nest with a human sailor who didn't even know she was there) saw a dragon turtle rising up from the depths of the lake, with four aquatic elf archers riding on its shell, and four albatrosses landing on deck while the fifth circled the crow's nest
The halfling slid down a web from her cloak of arachnida and alerted the others who, when they got on deck, found the four albatrosses on deck had transformed into aquatic elf fighters, who were attacking the human crewmen, while the dragon turtle rammed the ship's hull, trying to breach it
Watched as the paladin - the first PC back on deck - got hit by a readied flame strike spell cast by the circling albatross
Had my sorcerer dimension door himself and his grackle familiar to the top of the crow's nest (where he figured he'd have the best view of what was going on), and when the invisible halfling heard (and recognized) the words to his spell, she grabbed his robe and tagged along
Watched the elf druid, wildshaped in eagle form, cast a reverse gravity spell that sent the dragon turtle and its riders hovering 85 feet above the lake's surface, bobbing helplessly (at that range, the dragon turtle's steam breath weapon couldn't even reach the ship - it tried)
Had the paladin and crewmen (with reinforcements from below decks) take out the aquatic elf fighters, while the halfling leaped off the top of the crow's nest, stabbed the albatross (a wildshaped aquatic elf druid), and "rode" it down to the deck, tumbling to reduced damage for herself at he last moment
Had my sorcerer finish off the enemy druid with a chain lightning spell
Had the elf druid kill all four archers and all but one fighter with a firestorm spell (the dragon turtle was immune)
Had the paladin take out the last fighter, while the elf archer slew the helpless dragon turtle (staring with an arrow in each eye)
Offered to track the aquatic elves back to their lair (the druid can cast commune with nature while wildshaped as an octopus hanging onto the underside of the hull, so she'll be "interviewing the lake" directly), to see if they could track down the stolen cargo and/or missing ships, which were likely sunk, and my sorcerer's brother agreed, so that'll be our next adventure
Johnathan
