Message: <blockquote data-quote="Richards" data-source="post: 9796409" data-attributes="member: 508">In our last "Middle of Elsewhere" game session, the PCs:<ul> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">"Woke up" in Mechanus with no memory of the Shift Day they'd been expecting having happened</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Met up with a duodrone modron who passed a note to the celestial elf witch PC asking for help for help at the nearby modron mines</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Followed the duodrone to the mines, talked to a tridrone, found out the modrons had 2 problems:<ul> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">"Ants" (formians) had invaded their mines out of nowhere and slew their quadrone leader, and another nearby quadrone turned into a tentacled monster</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">The "ants" kidnapped a tridrone as it was transforming into a quadrone (and their new leader)</li> </ul></li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">The PCs dealt with the "tentacle-monster" first - it was a pentadrone, but modrons can only talk to those below their rank, those equal to their rank, or those one rank above; the tridrones, duodrones, and monodrones couldn't understand the pentadrone</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">It gave them a document which turned out to be an agreement signed by the 4 PCs that they'd perform an undocumented mission for Obsidian Omega Chi (a kolyrut inevitable who was one of Elsewhere's four leaders), with the understanding part of their memory would likely be erased; they'd apparently performed this mission and were bringing back a "floating coffin" variant of a forcecage spell, which they'd gotten from "The Factory"</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Went to the lower mines and slew 2 warrior formians, then found a secret passage leading to a cavern where there were two more warrior formians and four worker drone formians creating a teleportation circle, with an unmoving quadrone in the back</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Fought off the warriors and started pulling away the rune-stones of the teleportation circle, causing two of the workers to attack as well</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Had my cleric PC heal the quadrone, as the others slew the warriors</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Made quick work of the hapless worker drones, then destroyed the teleportation circle for good</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Departed the modron mine feeling a little better about their missing memories, and assumed all would be made clear when they returned to Elsewhere (which they judged to be about a 5-day trek)</li> </ul>The DM said next week's adventure would take place on the adjoining Mechanus gear (covered mostly in a thick forest), after which we'd return to Elsewhere and have everything explained.Johnathan</blockquote>
