Message: <blockquote data-quote="Richards" data-source="post: 9883439" data-attributes="member: 508">In tonight's "Middle of Elsewhere" campaign session, the PCs:<ul> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Were taken to a tavern by Valkyries (and a redeemed succubus working with them - an NPC from a prior campaign), who asked us to "prove our worth" by rescuing a seer who was taken captive by fire giants and dragged back to Muspelheim</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Left the mounts behind and headed out the next morning, following a map to the cave network leading to Muspelheim</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Sent the owl familiar out ahead, and thus got advance warning of the gray render and two anarchic girallons standing outside the cave entrance</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Buffed up, then went into combat, with the human shadow druid casting spike growth all around the three foes while the celestial elf witch cast fly on herself and stayed out of range</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Sent the fiendish orc fighter - at double his size thanks to an enlarge person spell - into combat with the three; he killed two and staggered the third, which I was able to have my fiendish human cleric finish off with a thrown dagger (Yay!  I helped!)</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Entered the cave ("The Cave of the Fire Serpents") and fought two more anarchic girallons, who in a single round each slew the two shadow lions the druid had summoned</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Took out the girallons and tried crossing streams of magma, only to find out the "fire serpents" were not fire snakes, as we had anticipated, but the tentacles of a fire element giant octopus who "swam" in the magma pool</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Managed to slay the octopus right before it was going to flee with the shadow druid wrapped up in its tentacles; the magma immersion would have slain him, but he now owes his life to the owl and the shocking grasp spell the witch imbued upon him with their "share spells" ability</li> </ul>Next session, we'll enter Muspelheim and make it to the fire giants and have a chance at rescuing the kidnapped seer; our DM informed us this was just a "travel adventure" tonight.Johnathan</blockquote>
