For me it depends on the nation. Some need much more information out there, others not so much.

For instance Darguun, Mrorh Holds, Zilargo, Droaam, Aerenal....we could use Five Nations level coverage on each of these. Political factions, settlements, the works.

On the other hand, there are places which I think are best left with less information. Eldeen Reaches, Shadow Marches, Demon Wastes, Q'barra, Frostfell...these I think are best left for the DM to fill out as s/he needs.

The middle areas (Talentia, Valenar) could go either way.

The problem with recent Eberron books (Faiths) is that they seem to try and force each different section into the same exact format, which leads to awkwardness I feel. If they try and do this again then we will end up with a single Other Nations book which has four pages on each nation and little useful information.

Grym,

You have a point about the forcing issue.

Seeker and Star,

You two sure you're not related or something...

If I had my druthers, each nation would be covered by an encyclopedic tome impossible to move around without hydraulic assistance. Since I realize that I represent a somewhat niche market, I'll say that Twiggly's suggestion seems pretty close to me (although I'd really like for Darguun to get a book all to itself).

My complaint of nation books is that some people think each nation needs its own special PrC and magic items and spells and ...and....and...

Now, if WOTC would steal my HR for seperating racial aspects from cultural aspects, a simple pamplet with the cultural template would suffice to give a character a distinct background and history attached to that nation.

I won't hold my breath :)

Agreed. I would be quite happy for a book with zero PrCs, feats, skills, or magic items. Give me details that I don't have time to work out on my own about the nations. I want npcs, maps, affiliations, and plot hooks, not some weak crunchy bits.
