Humans statted in bestiaries?

I just looked for "man" and "human" in the revised 3.5 SRD I have, to no avail. Then I looked in the PF bestiaries and ran a web search, which said they're not in them. Then I went to my 3.5 bestiaries, and then my 2e bestiaries, still nothing.

Is AD&D ("Men" in MM1) really the last hurrah for a place I can go to grab a quick generic bandit, brigand, berserker, buccaneer, caveman, dervish, nomad, merchant, or pilgrim?

Are there some good modern sources for "Man, the Monster"?

I think they got moved from monster books to NPC books. In many NPCs books one can find bandits and pirates and city guard and other traditional cannon fodder.

Recheck you 2nd edition Monstrous Manual: HUMAN is most definitely in it.

As for 3e era: NPC rules ate them. If you are looking for PF humans, check out the NPC Codex (most of which is free on the PRD or d20PFSRD sites.

Yep, they're in MC1 under "Men," they just don't appear in the index (only the sub-types). Easy to mis when you're scanning incredulously for "Men" or "Human" and moving rapidly on to the next volume.

The Codex, that's what I need. Thanks.

There are a variety of sample NPCs in the DMG and DMGII, including many from NPC classes that are supposed to be garden-variety schmucks. There is nothing in the SRD on this. Humans advance only by class, and there are no examples of classed humans in the MM, unlike the other common races.

For 3e, look in the DMG. They're organized by class. (A bandit could be a fighter, or rogue, or something similar.)
