Lazerfish, I actually liked the concept of the Rage Mage prestige class back in 3e. It makes a good idea in 4e now that the Sorcerer is different. Mystical Bandit (Rogue/Monk) - As a young child you were trained in a monastery learning the disciplines of martial arts instead of doing what most children did, you extensively trained with the Jian Rapier. But you found the life as a Monk was not for you. When your homeland came under attack you took to the hills. It was soon that you found kinship among a band of thieves and raiders making a desperate living across the countryside and cities, robbing from those you brought harm to your homeland, with you becoming one of their most notorious key members. Animal Forms Specialist (Monk/Druid) - It was from nature that many of the forms of martial arts came to be. From animals like the dragon, tiger, snake, leopard and crane, the ways in which they hunted or defended themselves served as inspiration for many different forms. For an adept like you, you decided to go closer to the source of your martial arts styles, be taking on the mindsets of such animals, guided by those 5 animal spirits. When you fight you not only fight as the tiger, you also become a tiger. Discredited Inventor (Artificer/Barbarian) - Always the diligent inventor and engineer that you were, you always prided yourself in your work. You understood the interactions of formulas and how elemental spirits can best be utilized for devices. You knew how they worked, in that it was easy for you to get in the mindset of such spirits. Unfortunately you were disgraced for one of your greatest projects that was supposed to be yours, it was sabotaged by a rival of yours. It left you discredited throughout your entire career, damaging any chance of have of a valuable commission. Learning how your arch-rival stole your ideas and is using it for wrong, it's time for you to strike back.
