Hypnotism in combat?

Quick question, the 1st level spell Hypnotism states it can be used to fascinate creatures in combat (though with an easier save against it) yet the condition "fascinated" states that combat breaks fascination.

Do you adhere to the spell's description, or the condition's description?

Combat itself doesn't free the creature, an obvious threat, like someone running up to it with a sword or aiming a bow at it, does.

Exactly, if you go first in initiative: you won't have that trouble (friends can't draw/aim yet).

However, hypnotism isn't used to win a battle but avoid one.

Lets say, you guys are wounded and get in combat: you hypnotise the enemy and now you guys can run/walk away.
